Well, folks, it's my second day working on this blog, and only my second post, but I figured if I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it big.
So here's introducing the Life Enchantment Project. Ta-da!
According to dictionary.com, the word enchanted means charmed, delighted, magical, and fascinated. Sounds nice doesn't it? I mean, who the heck wouldn't want to live a charming, delightful, magical, fascinating life? Anyone? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Now, I'm sure some of you out there are thinking it sounds like a fairytale, lovely to read about, but it's never going to happen in real life. Well, I'm not talking about a fairy godmother coming to bippity boppity boo you out of your mundane servitude, or Prince Charming coming to sweep you away into the sunset on his white stallion. We can't all be Cinderella, after all, just sitting around talking to mice and birds and hoping that life will get better 'once upon a time'. Sometimes, we have to take matters into our own hands and make 'happily ever after' happen for ourselves. And that, my friends, is what the Life Enchantment Project is all about.
Simply put, it's a matter of taking control of your life, and turning it into something that is ideal for you. For instance, I might not have an actual cottage in the woods with a big piece of land to homestead on, but I'm not letting that stop me from growing a garden or giving the interior of my shabby little trailer a cottage feel. And you shouldn't let it stop you either.
Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not saying my life is perfect by any means, which is partially why I started this blog, as a way to get motivated into enchanting my own life. But I am hoping to help you get enchanted along the way. I intend to share with you my own personal journey in enchantment in the best way I know how. One day at a time, one step at a time, one thing at a time.
Here's hoping we can get enchanted together!

Welcome to Silvermoon Cottage!
Hello and welcome to Silvermoon Cottage!
It's not much yet, not really a cottage even. It's actually more of an old mobile home at the back end of a city mobile home park. It needs a lot of lipstick and rouge to make it into the cozy cottage I want it to be, but at least it's mine (err...ours, counting the kid and hubby).
Why am I writing this blog? So glad you asked! Other than being a housewife in desperate need of a creative outlet, I've always wanted to start a blog about the things that matter to me and my family, and this seems as good a time as any.
And what matters to me and my family? Well, saving money, for one, since we are practically dirt poor. Homesteading and living lightly on the Earth for another. Trying to instill good values into my ADHD ODD 8-year-old who I might or might not have sheltered and spoiled a little too much. Getting organized and tackling that ever growing mountain of laundry that never seems to get folded and put away despite the fact that I do a gazillion loads of laundry every month. And food...Lots and lots of food...From scratch...Using real ingredients and not that stuff you find in a box on the shelves at Wally World.
Well, that's just the tip of the iceberg, folks. I hope you will join me on my adventures in life at Silvermoon Cottage. There will be plenty to come in future posts.
